Marsa Shagara and Marsa Nakari
Marsa Shagara 250 km South of Hurghada, and
Marsa Nakari 290 km South of Hurghada, are
both offering a new prospective of diving
away from the mass tourism. Both villages
offer three different kinds of
accommodation:
|
Tents:
The tents are located near the beach or
direct at the water edge [ In Shagara
village]. All are equipped with 2 Bedouin
beds. Single occupancy is available with
single supplement or in smaller single tents
without extra charge. The tents are supplied
with candles and matches, however, taking a
head torch may prove more useful when
walking around the village. |
|
|
Bungalows:
The Bungalows are located beside the wadi on
a hill behind the tents, overlooking the
bay. Built in a special desert architecture
with domed roofs and small windows in wind
direction, the rooms stay cool enough
without requiring air-conditioning. The
Bungalows are equipped with 2 beds (single
occupancy available with single supplement),
wardrobe, table and electricity. From the
terrace you have a wonderful overview over
the sea. A communal toilet and hot shower
block for the guests are located a bit away
(please bring your own towels). |
|
|
|
Chalets:
The 24 mē Chalets give you enough space for
a comfortable stay. The desert styled
architecture is very effective. The domed
roof, thick walls and windows in wind
direction let the Chalets stay cool enough
without requiring air-conditioning. Each
Chalet is equipped with its own bathroom.
|
|
|
|
All three kinds of
accommodations are on
full board bases and
include free soft
drinks, Mineral water,
tea and coffee; in
addition to tea & cake
which are served in the
afternoon. The meals are
basic but wholesome.

Awlad El Baraka
Awlad El Baraka is the newest addition to
the Red Sea camps. The camp is situated
around 14 kilometers south of Marsa Alam and
possesses a unique style. A small compound
of Huts for only 40 guests, built in a
traditional desert fashion.
The camp is meant for those individuals who
are mainly interested in good diving spots
and a relaxed holiday. The camp is not

exotic atmosphere.

round, built on solid ground with materials
that provide maximum ventilation, while the

Wadi Lahami
Wadi Lahami village is 400 km South of
Hurghada and 130 km South of Marsa Alam, in
sight of the peninsula Ras Banas. It is the
ideal place to explore the untouched reefs
and forgotten wrecks in the Southern most
part of the Egyptian Red Sea.
In 1993 we ran the first dive camp on Ras
Banas, but regulations and logistic problems
stopped it. So for all guests who have
repeatedly asked us for this camp over the
last years - we are back again and better
than ever!
For the first time divers have the chance to
dive from a land based operation the
fabulous reefs of Fury Shoal with its
fantastic hard- and soft coral formations.

Such famous reefs as Shaab Mansour, Abu
Galawa, Sattayah (Dolphin Reef) or Claudia
Reef with its rich marine life can be
visited in few minutes by speedboat. And
don't forget the multitude dive sites of the
magnificent house reef. Pelagics such as
jacks, tun, sharks and rays are cruising
visitors.
The bay of Wadi Lahami village is surrounded
by mangrove forest. The mangroves are fish
nursery and natural biotope for several
species, like invertebrates, echinoderms,
crustaceans and numerous birds. Discover the
nature by your own.
The gearing service area is directly located
at the waterline and it is designed and
managed to offer the best gearing area
support. It has fresh water rinsing tanks
and drying rails for hanging equipment. The
platform has also a bank of 220V power
points for battery recharging. Guests are
recommended to bring fast chargers. Full
cylinders (12L Aluminum) are stored inside.
The meals are served in the restaurant at
the beach. There you will also find the dive
plans done for the next day. Ecolodge Wadi
Lahami village offers also showers in a palm
tree hut.
The transfer from Hurghada airport takes
approximately 5:30 h. The guest can stop at
the Ecolodges Shagra village or Nakari
village to have a rest and a cold drink.
This remote area still offers a sense of
exploration and discovery. It is for the
adventurous diver seeking the opportunity to
discover pristine reefs, whilst living in a
close to nature environment |
